Pastor Dave Poolman has been a pastor in the Christian Reformed Church
for over 30 years. He attended Calvin University, where he earned a
bachelor degree degree in history. He went on to attend Calvin Theological
Seminary, where he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree. Since that
time he served churches in Imlay City, MI, Wyckoff, NJ, and Kentwood, MI
before coming to Avery Street in 2016.
Pastor Dave loves his work, especially the study, writing and preparation
that goes into preaching and teaching and being part of Sunday worship.
He also enjoys talking or praying with folks from the church and community.
When he’s not doing ministry, Pastor Dave loves working in the yard or
doing other projects at home, reading, or spending time with his family.
Pastor Dave and Deb have been married over 30 years and have four adult
children (one of them married) and one usually-well-behaved dog named
Pringle.
